  3. ====================

  4. iDEA is a national initiative that helps young people, aged 11
  5. to 25, to learn digital skills through achieving badges.

  6. You can help shape their learning and their future through
  7. developing online challenges that allow them to win
  8. career-enhancing badges, unlock new opportunities and, ultimately,
  9. gain nationally recognised awards that help
  10. them stand out from the crowd.

iDEAHack 2015

The first iDEAHack will take place on Saturday 12th December at the Tech City UK office at Runway East, 10 Finsbury Square. This is your chance to help shape the first 5 badges in the Bronze category for HRH The Duke of York's “Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award”.

iDEA awards are being created to reward digital talent of all kinds across the UK, the hackathon will shape how this can be achieved.

You will spend the morning brainstorming with your small team and come up with 3 badge ideas based on a briefing pack, then your creative lead will present them to a panel. Then you’ll spend the early afternoon with the teacher in your team listing out your learning objectives on a wiki.

Late afternoon will see you working with your graphic and UI/UX designers to build wireframes of your concept, later moving onto leveraging on your PHP/Full Stack Developers to create your development roadmap.

Over the coming weeks we’ll arrange a mid project meetup so your team can check progress and make sure you are on track for the 17th January deadline.

In early 2016, successful teams will then be invited to St James’s Palace, where you will have the opportunity to test your badge concepts with school children and showcase your work to The Duke of York.

Those teams that finish their Badge Hackathon Challenge will be invited to present the Completed Badge Concept and show off the app to The Duke of York and a group of teenagers.
